When police got to the home, they found the body of his grandmother, Juanita Quinones, 77, on the bathroom floor.

Near her body were multiple items, including a five-pound weight plate and a statue. Police say that Lloyd struck his grandmother multiple times in the head with the items, causing her to bleed profusely. Quinones was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man's mother said she last spoke to him at 3:23 that afternoon. Surveillance footage pulled by police showed Lloyd walking out of the home after police say he killed his grandmother.

Lloyd was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

He is currently at the Middlesex County Jail awaiting his first court hearing. Middlesex County Prosecutor Ciccone said she will not be releasing a mugshot of Lloyd.

Neighbors said they were stunned to hear of the gruesome murder.

"I couldn't believe it," Carteret resident Zoila Valle told CBS News Tuesday. "That's horrible. You know, they didn't bother anybody. They kept to themselves."
