New Woodbridge Coronavirus Cases Continue To Drop, Mayor Says
Woodbridge saw 35 new cases Monday. Compare that to last week, when the Twp. was seeing around 80 new cases a day.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A day after Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac said the town reported its' "lightest two days ever" for new coronavirus cases, the numbers continued to go down on Tuesday:
"Woodbridge had 35 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which is well below our recent daily average," said McCormac Tuesday. "We have had 75 cases in the last three days combined compared to three individual days last week with 77, 80 and 87."
"So the numbers really are starting to look better," he said.

"We are seeing a lot of car parades in town for kids with birthdays or couples with anniversaries and that’s OK," said McCormac. "We need some relief from the stress, and kids and seniors need to know that people really care about them. Please just stay in your cars and drive by and do not get out and gather and violate the social distancing guidelines. We all want to show someone that we love them, but we can do it while still being safe."
"Thanks to the Woodbridge Rotary Club, Gershon Alexander and the CPV power plant for their monetary donations and to Arianna’s and D’Italia’s, and a local resident with the initials J.T. for their donations of food to our local food pantries," he continued.
"One of our biggest concerns these days is making sure that people living alone who cannot leave the house get the nutrition they need on a daily basis. If you know people like that near you, please check on them to make sure they are OK and have what they need," he said.
Mayor McCormac is also accepting artwork by local children and jokes by email at wbmayor@twp.woodbridge.nj.us.
"Today’s joke is from 11-year-old Alexander Markan who asks 'Did you hear the joke about the virus? Oh, never mind, I don’t want to spread it.' I laughed out loud when I read that one," said the mayor.
