NJ District 6 Primary Results: Frank Pallone Cruises To Victory

U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone, a Democrat who represents New Jersey's sixth district, easily kept his seat tonight.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — In one of the first primary races to be called tonight, U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone easily kept his seat tonight. Pallone is a Democrat who represents New Jersey's sixth congressional district.

Pallone has represented the sixth district since 1988, and he faced a challenge in Tuesday's Democratic primary from newcomer Javahn Walker. Polls closed at 8 p.m., and by 8:30 Pallone was declared the winner by Politico:

Frank Pallone 7,176 votes 87.3% of the vote

Javahn Walker 1,045 votes 12.7% of the vote

Politico called the race with 28.4% of precincts reporting (150/529), and 8,221 total votes.

New Jersey's sixth district stretches from Carteret and Woodbridge into Metuchen and New Brunswick, then along the Raritan Bay, including towns such as Matawan and Hazlet and finally down to Asbury Park and West Long Branch.
