Trucker Dies After He's Severely Burned In Fiery Turnpike Tanker Crash
The truck driver involved in Tuesday's crash that shut down Exit 11 on the New Jersey Turnpike has died.

The truck driver involved in Tuesday’s fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike has died, state police said.
Carlos Vinciguerra-Gomez, 58, of Elizabeth, died around 9 a.m. Wednesday, said State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams.

Vinciguerra-Gomez was airlifted Tuesday to the burn unit at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, police said.
He was driving a Peterbilt tanker truck along New Jersey Turnpike south Tuesday afternoon. Around 1:45 p.m., he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on the Exit 11 ramp in Woodbridge, said Williams.

The truck flipped and the vehicle became engulfed in flames, police said.
The driver was able to escape from the vehicle, but he sustained major burns, said Williams.
