It’s Grab & Go Kids Planner time!  Stuck for ideas to entertain the kids this weekend?  We’ve got you covered! 

This weekend we've got breakfast with the Easter Bunny, a KidsFest in East Brunswick, and perhaps the one name sure to elicit an excited response from your kids and pre-teens: Harry Potter.

  • Somerset Patriots Fan Fest at TD Bank Ballpark; 1 Patriots Park, Bridgewater; 908-252-0700; Price: FREE; Saturday, 12-3 PM.

Meet Patriots players and manager Sparky Lyle (a great autograph opportunity!) at the Somerset Patriots annual Fan Fest this Saturday.  All kids in attendance get to run the bases.  In addition, there will be clowns, face-painting, appearances by mascots Sparkee and Slider, and chances to get various ticket discounts and offers.  With the Patriots’ season less than a month away, now’s the time to check out our area’s premier minor league ball club.

  • Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Summit YMCA; 67 Maple St., Summit; 908-273-3330; Saturday, 9, 10, and 11 AM seatings

Kick off a month of Easter celebrations by breaking bread with the Easter Bunny Saturday morning at the Summit Area YMCA.  Activities will include breakfast, naturally, as well as an Easter egg hunt.  Pre-registration is required, so be sure to reserve your spot before heading up!

  • Parents Survival Night at the Little Gym; 6 South Ave. West, Cranford; 908-497-1500; Price: $25 for Gym members, $30 for non-members;  Saturday, 6:30 pm

“It’s like recess for parents” touts the Little Gym’s website.  Enjoy a much-deserved night out as the Little Gym keeps the kids entertained.  Kids will play games, have a snack, make a craft, and enjoy a variety of physical activities, while you kick back and catch a movie or a show or just a quiet evening at home!

  • KidsFest 2011 at the Fields Sports Complex; 8 Cornwall Ct., East Brunswick; 732-249-2600; Price - FREE; Sunday, 11 AM – 3 PM

Live entertainment, treasure hunts, magicians, contests, a Princess Party, a karate exposition, and the chance to learn lacrosse and soccer highlight KidsFest in East Brunswick.  Put on by radio station Magic 98.3, the fest also features a chance to win a free Nintento 3DS, a chance to learn to Zumba, and a relaxation lounge for parents to kick back when things get exhausting.

  • Harry Potter – The Exhibition at Discovery Times Square; 226 West 44th St., New York City; 888-988-8692; Price: $25 for adults, $19.50 for children 4-12, under 4 free; various times

For all the Harry Potter fans out there (and we know there’s a ton, both kids and parents), Discovery Times Square brings Harry Potter – the Exhibition to New York City this week.  Running all summer (though September 5th), Harry Potter – the Exhibition lets fans of the hit movies get up close and personal with the props and costumes from the films.  The artifacts are presented in rooms designed to look like the movies, from the Great Hall to Hagrid’s Hut and more.
