Woodbridge Bank Suspect Hit Banks In Old Bridge, Sayreville: PD
The man charged with robbing the BCB Bank in Woodbridge Monday morning is suspected of robbing an Old Bridge bank half an hour earlier.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — The man who is charged with robbing the BCB Bank in Woodbridge Monday morning is suspected of robbing a bank in Old Bridge just half an hour earlier, as well as a bank in Sayreville on Saturday, two days prior.
The suspect, Francis Conte, tried to rob the TD Bank on Rt.9/Perrine Road in Old Bridge at 10:17 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, said Old Bridge police spokesman Capt. Joe Mandola.
He walked into the bank at 10:17 a.m., demanded cash but then got spooked and fled without any money, said Capt. Mandola.

Less than half an hour later, he drove the same car into Woodbridge Township, where he stopped at the BCB Bank at 378 Amboy Avenue. At approximately 10:45 a.m. he walked in and handed the teller a note demanding money, said police. But before she could give it to him, he grabbed $1,660 from where she was counting funds in front of her, and fled, police said.
Old Bridge and Woodbridge police broadcast a description of his car and that same vehicle was stopped by Carteret police later Monday afternoon.

Conte has been charged with robbery by both Woodbridge and Old Bridge police. He is also the suspect involved in a bank robbery that occurred in Sayreville on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Conte, 49, has given Perth Amboy and South Amboy addresses.
