Woodbridge Man Issued Summons in Fatal Turnpike Crash

Nishank Shaw, 24, was given a summons for careless driving in a crash that killed two.

A Woodbridge man was issued a summons for careless driving after being involved in a Nov. 9 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike left two men dead.

Nishank Shaw, 24, “failed to observe stopped traffic” ahead of him, according to a report on NJ.com.

Rob Critelli, 21, of Summit, and Christopher Calderone, 20, of Brick, died in the crash.

Shaw was driving a Toyota Avalon, traveling southbound on the Turnpike in Woolwich Township when he hit a Volkswagen Passat pulled over in the left lane. The impact pushed the Passat into a third car that was also pulled over and slammed it into a concrete barrier. The Passant burst into flames on impact.

Critelli and Calderone were inside. They were on their way to a concert in Delaware.

While the Gloucester County Prosecutor is reviewing the case, further criminal charges are not expected unless new information comes to light, according to the report.

Calderone and Fiorentino were members of a rock band called Fated Endeavor, Patch has reported. Their deaths left a huge hole in the fledgling band, and in many hearts, their friends told Patch at the time of the accident. Photos courtesy of Eva Motto.
