2 Found Dead In Murder-Suicide In Woodbridge Home
At 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, Woodbridge Police responded to a home on Soren Street after getting a 911 call of a woman lying in the front yard:
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — Two people were found dead inside a Woodbridge home Wednesday evening, in a situation that prompted a large police response and police standoff, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor.
At this point, the incident is being investigated as a murder/suicide and there is not believed to be any risk to the public, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Director Robert Hubner. Related: Husband, Wife Identified In Woodbridge Murder/Suicide
At 4:37 p.m. Wednesday, Woodbridge Police officers responded to a home on Soren Street near Ford Avenue after receiving a 911 call about an unresponsive woman lying on the front lawn. Upon arrival, it was determined two people were deceased at the scene.

The wife and husband have been identified as wife Lynn Jasper, 69, and her husband James Jasper, 66. Police say he fatally shot his wife several times in the front lawn of their Soren Street home and then went inside, where he shot himself.
There were reports of more than 20 Woodbridge police cars on the scene.
