RAHWAY, NJ – The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch has announced an Open House the week of June 8-14, celebrating the Grand Opening of the 1564 Irving Street, Rahway location. The Rahway Branch recently completed a $3.4 million, 16,938 square foot renovation project, including adding 3 additional floors for member and program use. In addition to the facility renovations, the Y has added new equipment and expanded program options, including a dedicated focus on Arts programs. “As part of the Open House, the public is invited to meet the staff, take a tour, enjoy a family swim, play a game of basketball and workout in the state-of-the art cardiovascular fitness center, strength training center or weight training center,” stated Rodger D. Koerber, Rahway Branch Executive.

The YMCA is offering a membership special through June 15, waiving the Joiner’s Fee. All members who join during the Open House June 8-14 will receive a special gift and be entered into a raffle for a PlayStation 4 in celebration of the Grand Opening.

The Gateway Family YMCA has served the community for 115 years. “The YMCA is open to all. At The Gateway Family YMCA, we offer financial assistance so that everyone is able to experience the programs and services they need, regardless of ability to pay,” stated Melynda A. Mileski, EVP/COO. The Gateway Family YMCA offers free membership for all 7th grade students, encouraging them to build healthy habits to last a lifetime. In addition, the YMCA provides a Diabetes Prevention Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA and Early Learning Readiness, a free community program for preschool children and their caregivers. Traditional Y programs include Arts, Swimming, Dance, Before/After School Care, Summer Day Camp, Water Fitness, Group Exercise, Basketball, Yoga, Youth Sports, Zumba and Personal Training.
