Free Screening for Runners and Athletes

Wyckoff Runners Screening
Sports Care Institute in Wyckofff, NJ has teamed up with two medical specialists to host a NO COST Injury Prevention Screening for runners.

In an effort to help athletes and marathon runners avoid injuries during their training, Sports Conditioning Institute has teamed up with Dr. Richard Braver of Active Foot & Ankle Care and Rick Daigle of Game On Physical Therapy.  

The facility will be hosting an event on December 15, 2012 at 12pm that will be open to the public as well as members and non-members.  For this event, both runners and athletes will have their workouts screened by Dr. Braver and Rick Daigle in an effort to help athletes prevent injuries.

About Dr. BraverRichard T. Braver, DPM, FACFAS, graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. and the W.M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. He completed his residency training at the New York City College of Podiatric Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals and Institutions in New York City. He underwent fellowship training in the Chicago area sponsored by the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. 

Currently he is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Runner's World Magazine and also a contributing writer to Podiatry Today Magazine.  Dr. Braver is also the team podiatric physician for all sports teams at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Montclair State University He has lectured Nationally and Internationally on podiatric topics including sports injuries, running analysis, orthotics, forensic podiatry, PRP injections, ulcer/wound grafts, and foot and ankle surgery. He regularly performs clinics on prevention and treatment of running, dancing, gymnastics, and ice skating injuries. Dr. Braver maintains his private practice in Englewood, Haskell, and Fair Lawn, NJ. 

About Rick Daigle

Rick Daigle, PT, DPT, received his undergraduate Pre-Med degree in 2003 from New England College and then graduated from Simmons College with his Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006.  Rick Specializes in post-operative management and in the analysis and correction of biomechanical deficiencies and injury prevention.  He is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor and is certified as a SportsmetricsTM Instructor by Cincinnati Sports Medicine where he served an orthopedic externship.

In addition to Cincinnati Sports Medicine, Rick has worked as a therapist and team leader for Foundry Sports Medicine in Rhode Island, managed multiple facilities for Sports PT of NY and as the Director of Physical Therapy for Kinetic PT in Ramsey NJ. 

Rick trained with some of the country's top physicians and physical therapists and brings his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to his private practice.  He has experience working with high school, collegiate and professional athletes from both a performance and rehabilitative stand point.  Throughout his career he has been a leader and mentor to many clinicians in New York City and Bergen County.

 S.C.I. is dedicated to helping athletes not only improve in their sport / fitness, but to help them grow as young adults. SCI prides itself on being leaders and good examples. Also, the goal is to develop stronger, faster, more explosive athletes without injury and without cheating (steroids ect..)
