Christian Health Care Center Employee and Wyckoff Resident Honored as a Legend
Wyckoff resident Jane Hug, RN, Heritage Manor Nursing Home at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff, was recently honored as a Legend Quarterly All Star.

Wyckoff resident Jane Hug, RN, Heritage Manor Nursing Home at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff, was recently honored as a Legend Quarterly All Star. Staff of CHCC is invited to nominate co-workers as Legends as part of the Center’s service-excellence initiative. A Legend is someone who exemplifies the mission and values of CHCC in an outstanding and easily recognizable manner, who contributes exemplary service for the benefit of those served at CHCC and beyond, or who demonstrates behavior above and beyond expectations. Ms. Hug was nominated by Maryanne Burdi, Heritage Manor and Southgate Assistant Director of Nursing, and Sandra Ondrof, Gift Shop Manager.
“Jane is an exceptional person and truly makes a difference day in and day out at CHCC and in the community where she lives,” said Ms. Burdi.
In 1980, Ms. Hug and a friend saw a need in the community to help shut-ins who may not have the ability to financial means to have a good meal. They met with local ministers who supported their efforts by referring those who may be in need of such a service. Then they contacted CHCC to prepare the food to be delivered through Meals on Wheels. They created a board of trustees, reaching out to the community for volunteers and coordinated the distribution of the meals. Ms. Hug attended the board meetings for many years and her parents volunteered to deliver meals for more than 10 years.

Ms. Hug has an affinity to the elderly. She has helped various organizations within the Wyckoff Reformed Church and particularly extends herself to help older members of the church. As a nurse at CHCC for more than 20 years, she always shows kindness and understanding to the residents, even when the work is rigorous and demanding. Her name is mentioned many times by families about the wonderful service she provides.
Ms. Hug exemplifies humility as well as the mission of CHCC. So many people have been touched by her gift of love and being recognized as a Legend Quarterly All Star is well deserved.
