Every Day is Mother's Day at Christian Health Care Center
Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff keeps caring in the family. From the Center's early days, generations of family members have been found working, living, and/or volunteering here.
Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Wyckoff keeps caring in the family. From the Center’s early days, generations of family members have been found working,
living, and/or volunteering here. Michele Kilic, a personal-care attendant (PCA) at The Longview Assisted Living Residence, is grateful for the Center’s on-site Child Day Care Center, which is located in the bottom level of Longview, where her 5-year old son, Liam, spends his days while she is working. John Browne, Residential Services Vice President, finds comfort knowing that his mom, Irene, is safe and content living at Evergreen Court, the Center’s senior-supportive housing complex for independent seniors.
Ms. Kilic enjoys the fact that Liam can participate in intergenerational
activities with residents at Longview. Reflecting on what motherhood means to
her, Ms. Kilic said, “To me, being a mother means taking care of your children,
cuddling them, watching them grow, listening to their wants and needs, and
being there for them during good and bad times. Most importantly, you need to
show them our unconditional love, every second of every day.”
“My mommy is nice and she loves me,” said Liam. “She is fun and lets me cook
with her, and I like that.”

“My happiest memory is when our son was born, strong and healthy,” reflected Mrs Browne. “John was always a contented child, a serious-minded teenager, and a joy to us as an adult. I was so proud of John as he grew, and that has never changed to this day."
“Through my mother’s example, I learned how to live my life treating others
with respect and dignity,” said Mr. Browne. “She was and still is my role model for finding value in everyone I meet and for finding the good in people. Her love was limitless, and her appreciation of so many different aspects of life was vast. She taught me life’s valuable lessons and instilled values in me for which I am very thankful. And I am so pleased she lives at Evergreen Court. I know first-hand the quality of care that is provided at Christian Health Care Center, and I wouldn’t want her anywhere else.”
For Cheryl Wolf, ADC, The Longview Assisted Living Residence Activities
Director, CHCC is truly a family affair. Her 2-year old daughter Emily attends
the Child Day Care Center, her father works at Christian Health Care Adult Day
Services of Wayne, and her grandmother is a Longview resident.

At a special Mother’s Day Tea, Mrs. Wolf reflected on what motherhood means to
her. “It’s the most amazing experience. You feel such intense love for your
children. You would do just anything for them.”
Her grandmother, Jean Stonehouse, said “It’s a responsibility to bring a child
up to be a good citizen and in a Godly way.”
