Canceled Gig Just the 'Life of the Musician'
Threat of storms cancels Mack Bailey, Rachel Levy concert at Spring Lake
When performers Mack Bailey and Rachel Levy heard their Friday evening performance at the Wyckoff Family YMCA was canceled over the threat of storms from Hurricane Earl, they knew it came with the job description.
"This is the life of the musician," Levy said.
"We were disappointed because we were looking forward to coming up," she said.

Levy said three concerts were scheduled to make the trip out East from Colorado more cost effective.
"This happens sometimes," said Levy. "This is why we will group concerts together so in case something happens, we can have another event to fall back on."
With a Thursday evening event in Maryland and another in Philadelphia, Levy said the trip has been worth it.
"We love doing the outdoor shows, and the one in Wyckoff would have been one," said Levy. "However, some of our indoor concerts have been canceled (as well)."
She said the inclimate weather made it difficult to travel but she and her husband make the best of it.
"Sometimes it is nice just to have the time," she said.
As the two travel in a Winnebago camper, they have been known to pull out their guitars and perform at picnic tables.
"It's not romantic to think of doing an impromptu jam session," said Levy. "We have been known to do it, and it can be fun. We'll have people who will stop and listen or some even join us."
But Levy said nothing beats the real thing.
"We will be working to get back to the area," she said. "We just need to re-schedule."
Until then, she invites fans to check out their website at MackBailey.com.
Levy said the pair look forward to being part of the YMCA series in the future.
"It's a great series," she said. "We have heard so many good things about it, but it will be just as much fun next year."
