CHCC Vista Expansion on Agenda at Tonight's Zoning Board Meeting
Traffic expert and engineer expected to give testimony.
Testimony will continue tonight before the Zoning Board of Adjustment on the Christian Health Care Center’s proposed expansion plan to build 258 residential units, named Vista.
At its previous meeting on March 28 the board heard details regarding the variances that will be required for the project to proceed. CHCC attorney Jerry Vogel had engineer Kenneth Karle give testimony which focused on the property’s drainage system.
Currently, water drainage is a major concern in the area, with water running onto Goffle Hill Road and neighboring residential properties. Karle explained that drainage systems along the east and west sides of the property would flow into a 100-foot by 300-foot retention basin that would slowly drain into Passaic County’s water system. According to Karle, the proposed system would reduce runoff by more than is required by the state.

At that March meeting Board members expressed concern about the drainage system. The site is split between Wyckoff and Hawthorne, but Karle said they intend to use water systems in Hawthorne and Passaic County.
At tonight's meeting, at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Town Hall, Vogel is expected to have a traffic expert and engineer to give testimony.
