CHCC’s first Faith & Grief Luncheon held in January and all the meetings to
date have been extremely well-received. CHCC is the first health-care facility
to offer this community service. The ministry originated in Dallas, Texas and
was held in churches.
“I believe that this type of bereavement support group which incorporates the
major component of faith into a person’s journey through grief will deeply
impact those who choose to participate,” said Sandra Masters, MDiv, Heritage
Manor Nursing Home Chaplain. “I’ve seen it happen in Dallas, and that’s why I
was so passionate about bringing this program to the community here in New
Jersey. It also seems like a natural extension of the healing ministry that we
have had here at Christian Health Care Center for more than 100 years.”
