Christian Health Care Center Honors Volunteers at Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon

Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) recently honored its many dedicated volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Macaluso’s in Hawthorne. Dot Faasse, CHCC’s Coordinator of Volunteers, opened the program by welcoming attendees.

“It is with the greatest pleasure that Christian Health Care Center honors all our wonderful volunteers,” said Mrs. Faasse. “They care so deeply for our residents and provide such valuable assistance in so many ways. We are very blessed.”

The event culminated with an awards presentation. Isabelle Kool of Wyckoff was recognized for 11,000 hours of service. Toni McAlevey of North Haledon was recognized for 3,000 hours of service. Pat Burwitz of North Haledon and Stanley Grossberg of Pompton Lakes were recognized for 2,500 hours of service. Westwood, and Marie Wisher of Wayne were recognized for 500 hours of service. Barbara Carney of Mahwah, Irene Darby of Wayne, Cheryl Ormezzano of North Haledon, Sharon Quan of Waldwick, and Betty Walton of Wayne were recognized for 250 hours of service.

Each year, more than 300 adults and teenagers collectively provide nearly 15,000 hours of volunteer service to CHCC. Their responsibilities are varied and extensive. Some assist with activities or work in de Snoep Winkel Gift Shop and Tea Room. Others organize fundraisers or serve on the CHCC Board of Trustees. CHCC’s goal is to make volunteer’s experience a valuable one, while also benefiting residents, patients, consumers, and clients.
