Could Wyckoff Mayor Kevin Rooney Run For State Senate?
Rooney was mentioned as a potential successor to state District 40 Senator Kevin J. O'Toole, who will not seek re-election for another term.

WYCKOFF, NJ - Mayor Kevin Rooney is already being mentioned as a possible candidate to succeed state Senator Kevin O’Toole next year.
O’Toole recently announced he would be seek re-election to another term. Rooney, along with assemblymen Scott Rumana and David Russo, and Passaic County Clerk Kristin Corrado, were mentioned in a recent PolitickerNJ article as possible Republican successors.

Earlier this month, Rooney was re-appointed mayor for a second consecutive year, the first time that’s happened in more than 40 years. He was re-elected to a third, three-year term Township Committee term in November. The committee annually appoints who the mayor and deputy mayor.
Rooney did not respond to e-mailed requests for comments.
