WYCKOFF, NJ — The Township Committee Tuesday declared this week Dylan Hartigan Week in town.
Hartigan appeared on NBC's "The Voice" earlier this year. His run on the show ended last month.
"We were delighted to honor Dylan. He generated a great swell of support from the entire community during his competition on “The Voice,"" said Mayor Brian Scanlan. "We were all really proud to see him represent Wyckoff, and we’re sure we’re going to be seeing a lot more of Dylan."

Hartigan, a Ramapo High School alumnus, sang "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for his last performance. The soulful rendition had Clarkson beaming when it was done.
"You are such a talented dude," Clarkson said. "You have the ability to take a pop song and make it your own."

Hartigan was originally chosen by Clarkson, but lost in a knockout episode. Judge Shelton stole Hartigan as he walked off the stage. Shelton then chose singer Wilkes over Hartigan in the next episode, but Clarkson saved him and he performed this week.
Hartigan thanked his supporters and "Voice" coaches Clarkson and Blake Shelton on Twitter after he was eliminated.
"Thank you all so much for everything," Hartigan said. "Being on 'The Voice' was the opportunity of a lifetime, and my gratitude for [Clarkson and Shelton] is endless. This is just the beginning. Rock on."
