Heatwave Prompting Early School Dismissal on Thursday for Wyckoff Schools

School Superintendent Kuder says District taking precautionary measures.

With the National Weather Service projecting extreme temperatures approaching 96 degrees tomorrow in Wyckoff, School Superintendent Richard Kuder announced an early dismissal for students on Thursday.

"As heat builds up over time in our classrooms, the temperatures come close to reaching a point where learning becomes difficult," Kuder wrote in an announcement posted on the Board of Education website. " We are committed to taking whatever precautions are necessary to ensure an optimal learning environment for our children."

Eisenhower will open for classes at 8:10 a.m. and have dismissal at 12:46 p.m. Coolidge, Lincoln, Sicomac and the Washington School will open at 8:50 a.m. and have dismissal at 1:05 p.m. All evening activities on the school schedule will go on as planned, according to the release.
