High-End Vehicle Thefts Prompt Warning From Bergen Prosecutor
Multiple vehicles were stolen from the same home; 30 vehicles have been stolen from 19 Bergen County municipalities.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The theft of 30 high-end vehicles from 19 Bergen County towns within the last month has prompted a warning from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
On two occasions, multiple vehicles were stolen from the same home, Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Four vehicles have been stolen from Franklin Lakes; two of them, including a 2017 Jaguar, were stolen on the same night, police previously said.

Other municipalities with multiple thefts include: Englewood, Paramus and Glen Rock with two each. The northwestern, northeastern and Gold Coast portions of the county have seen the most number of thefts.
Five men were arrested in Wyckoff Nov. 16 when a resident saw someone approach a vehicle parked in his driveway, police previously said. The resident called 911 and reported that two suspicious vehicles

Suspects are checking door handles to determine if a vehicle is unlocked. In some instances, keys and key fobs have been left in vehicles, police previously said.
If a vehicle is unlocked, but there are no keys inside, suspects steal valuables and cash and then simply target the next home, Grewal said.
Local police departments warn residents not to leave their keys, key fobs or valuables in their unlocked vehicles. Vehicles should be locked and any valuables should be kept out of sight. Grewal issued a similar warning Monday.
Anyone who sees any suspicious people around a driveway at any time should immediately contact their local police department.
