How to Find the Cheapest Gasoline Near Your Home
Search for the best prices, updated daily

The average household in the United States will spend roughly $305 on gasoline in December 2010, according to a recent study by PortiaGroup, as described by a recent AAA news release.
To help you get the most bang for your buck, area residents can compare gas prices at most of the nearby stations, here, on the Motor Trend website. Just plug your zip code into the search tool and search the list for the cheapest local station.
As of Sunday, the lowest prices can be found at the Sunoco at 415 Wagaraw Road in Hawthorne, where regular is at $2.97 a gallon and premium gas at $3.07 a gallon. The cheapest prices in Wyckoff could be found at the station at 401 Goffle Road, where regular was $2.99 a gallon and premium $3.16 a gallon.

Local stations were largely keeping pace with the average prices in the state as of Sunday. Regular averaged $2.978 a gallon statewide, and premium $3.314, according to AAA.
And New Jerseyans are largely better off than many around the country, as national prices were averaging $3.040 a gallon for regular and $3.345 for premium as of Sunday, AAA reported.

If you're not satisfied with the local prices, you can always enter your destination on the site to see if it makes more sense to fuel up once you get there.
If gas prices everywhere seem higher than usual, it's because they are. AAA is reporting that gas prices nationally are 76 percent higher than they were in December 2008, and up 13.6 percent from last year.
Despite the increase in fuel prices, more than are expected to travel more than 50 miles for the end-of-the-year holidays, according to AAA, and 93 percent of them will go by car.
