Question of the Week: Is Wyckoff in Danger of Losing its Small Town Identity?
With Marshalls opening and second supermarket potentially waiting in wings, some are worried overdevelopment in Wyckoff could be an issue.

Is Wyckoff in danger of losing its small town charm?
That's the concern some residents expressed last week with the opening of the Marshalls chain in Boulder Run. While some were happy to have a shorter distance to travel for bargain shopping, others expressed dismay over increased traffic and the potential impact on competing small businesses in town.
Last July the Wyckoff Planning Board adopted revisions to the town Master Plan revisions. The Master Plan acts as a guide for land use and development in the town. one of his primary tasks was ensuring overdevelopment didn't become an issue in Wyckoff.

“The town has some large applications before the land use board right now, some of which (the township committee) doesn’t have any control or input over. But our goal is consistent with our Master Plan revision...that we want to maintain Wyckoff’s small town charm and character,” Rooney said.
