Raiders Soaked By Indians 31-10

Ramapo finishes their home opener with the first loss of the season

The Raiders performed for their first home crowd of the season with a 31-10 loss against the Pascack Valley Indians in the rain Friday night.

Ramapo running back Skyler Amador made a number of runs in the first quarter, but the Raiders weren't able to make any big moves down the field. After a large gain by Indians sophomore Alex Moore, fullback James Dechiara scored the first touchdown of the game.

In the second quarter, Pascack Valley senior Jordan Roses made a breakaway 84-yard touchdown run, which was followed by a successful field goal, bringing the score to 14-0. The Raiders made a few short plays, but Indians fullback Chris Park made an interception and a long run toward the goal line. They scored on the next play. Ramapo then made a strong push, with several successful throws from quarterback Ryan Dougherty to receivers Doug Norkett and Neil O'Connor, who caught a touchdown pass with less than a minute left in the half, bringing the mid-game score to 21-7.
