Rainbow Corners Nursery School, located in Waldwick NJ, is a cooperative, non-sectarian preschool whose goal is to offer children a well-rounded experience through active play-based activities that allow for social, intellectual and emotional development. The school strives to create a family atmosphere with a strong sense of community. As a cooperative preschool, parents play an important role in their children’s education and about twice a month many assist in the classroom. While the hope is that every parent volunteers at some point, there are also a few spots available for parents who are unable to work during the week in the classroom.
A typical daily schedule includes activities such as circle time, outdoor play, story time, art, writing center and computer time. Children also participate in music and gym classes, which alternate weekly. Age appropriate field trips are also planned throughout the year. Field trips include nature walks, hayrides, train rides and visits to the Post Office. Rainbow Corners offers classes for children ranging from 2 ½ to 5 years of age. The 2-year-old program meets two times a week and classroom activities emphasize following directions, language development, exploring and sharing. The 3-year-old program meets three times a week, and the 4-year-olds meet four times a week. Click here to read the full article.
