Ramapo Football Topples Teaneck

Ramapo needed a little time to get in a rhythm, but once it got moving, the dance party began.

The Green Raiders held on to a slim 6-0 lead at the half against Teaneck and the game seemed to be shaping up to be a low-scoring defensive affair.

But the locker room pep talk at the break sparked a series of offensive drives in the second half that led to the Raiders' 26-0 season-opening victory over the Highwaymen on Saturday night on the road.

Ryan Daugherty tossed a 10-yard TD pass  to Doug Norkett to get things rolling in the first quarter and Skylar Amador, who finished with 50 rushing yards, scampered in for a five-yard score in the third to extend the lead to 12-0.

Teaneck (0-1) made several drives that were stalled by the Raider defense. But ultimately, it was the Ramapo running game that stepped up big time.

Matt Alpert rushed for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the deal for Ramapo (1-0) in the Big North crossover contest.
