Spring is here and so is one of the busiest wedding seasons of the year. Brides always ask me what the best flowers for spring weddings are and I figured this is the perfect time to share my wisdom. In my opinion it is one of the best times of year to get married do to the abundance of beautiful blooming flowers. There are a variety of styles and colors on the market and the choices are plentiful.
Seasonal flowers are best because you will get the greatest look for your budget. During the spring I love working with South American hydrangeas and varietals of pink and white orchids. Their light warm tones can give a romantic and intimate feel to your event space. Many brides lean towards stark white flowers, but mixing in subtle blush tones gives an ethereal look to your day.
Besides choosing beautiful seasonal flowers, it is important to envision the event space as a blank canvas. I like mixing a variety of heights and textures to my arrangements to give the room an interesting and dynamic look. A mixture of low and high arrangements with a variety of branches and candles can add drama to any room. Pairing the flowers with a textured or sheen crystallized linen will complete the look.
