Wyckoff Firefighters Rescue Girl, 12, Stuck In The Mud: Police
First responders were dispatched to the James A. McFaul Environmental Center after the girl became trapped in the mud. She was uninjured.
WYCKOFF, NJ — Wyckoff firefighters were needed to rescue a 12-year-old girl trapped in the mud at the James A. McFaul Environmental Center earlier this month, Wyckoff Police said in their latest blotter.
At around 3:15 p.m. Nov. 6, officers were dispatched to the environmental center on Crescent Avenue after receiving reports that the girl had gone off the marked path, getting stuck in mud up to her waist in the process.
Initially, officers attempted to pull her out of the mud, but were unsuccessful, the department said.

The Wyckoff Fire Department responded to the scene, and firefighters were able to get the girl out of the mud after creating a temporary walkway across the muddy area with plywood.
Eventually, they used shovels to dig the girl up, police said.
