Wyckoff Girl Scout Honored For Gold Award Project

Amanda Sproha was honored at a Wyckoff Board of Education meeting Monday.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A former township student was honored Monday for her efforts to keep kids safe near school.

Amanda Mitzi Sproha's Girl Scout Gold Award community service project started the "Slow Before You Go" campaign. Earning a Gold Award is the equivalent of a Boy Scout earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Sproha's project is designed to make drivers aware of the dangers of driving recklessly around township elementary schools. Sproha had signs posted around them designed to slow traffic.
