Wyckoff Home Damaged By Fire That Started In Basement: Officials
Firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the "hot, smoky fire,' officials said.

WYCKOFF, N.J. — Firefighters battled a "hot, smoky" fire at a Morley Drive home Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started in the basement near a washer and dryer, said Township Committeeman Rudy Boonstra, the township's fire commissioner, at the Township Committee's meeting Tuesday night. A neighbor reported the fire to authorities.
The fire department appeared to have "preserved the structural integrity" of the house," Boonstra said. Several area fire departments responded to the blaze, including those from Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Midland Park, Waldwick, and Hawthorne.
