School Superintendent Burned in Wyckoff House Fire Placed on Leave: Report
David M. Browne, Randolph Township superintendent, was placed on leave hours after he was hurt at his Wyckoff home, report says.

David M. Browne, the Wyckoff man who was burned in a fire at his home, has been placed on administrative leave Tuesday hours after he was injured, NJ.com reported.
Marc Zitomer, attorney for the Randolph Township Board of Education, told the website Thursday that Browne had been placed on paid administrative leave; Zitomer did not indicate why Browne was placed on leave, the report said.

Browne, 55, was injured Tuesday when a fire broke out in the detached garage of his Wyckoff Avenue home. Browne was found lying outside the house and taken to the hospital, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.
Fox said he did not think Browne’s injuries were life threatening.

The garage, and its contents, were destroyed,” Fox said. “There was no damage to the main living quarters of the home.”
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Squad was investigating what caused the fire, Fox said.
