Wyckoff Police Helping Girl, 8, Battle Cancer

Beards For Becca is trying to help Becca raise $100,000. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2014.

WYCKOFF, N.J. — Eli Manning and the police are working together to help an 8-year-old resident battle cancer.

Becca was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood and bone marrow cancer on Sept. 8, 2014. She is counting down her last 100 days of chemotherapy, which is scheduled to end Nov. 13.

Becca and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, her favorite football player, have launched Eli's Challenge to try and raise $100,000 for Tackle Kids Cancer, a initiative created by The Children’s Cancer Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center to raise funds and awareness for pediatric cancer patients.

Nearly $6,000 has been donated to Becca's campaign.

Wyckoff police officers are growing beards in month in support of the campaign. The Wyckoff PBA Local 261 will donate to the campaign at the end of the month.

"We're happy to help and hope our participation draws attention to Becca and her fight," Officer Kevin Pinches, Wyckoff PBA president said of the Beards for Beeca campaign.
