Wyckoff Police Raise $3,000 Through Beards For Becca Campaign
The money will be donated to Tackle Kids Cancer to help Becca, a 9-year-old from Wyckoff battling cancer.

WYCKOFF, N.J. — The township police department raised $3,000 last month to help Becca, township 9-year-old, battle cancer.
Members of the Wyckoff Policemen's Benevolent Association Local 261 grew beards all month and donated $2,500 to Tackle Kids Cancer, a campaign of Hackensack University Medical Center that Eli Manning is sponsoring and Becca helped launch. An additional $500 was donated to the union from members of the community.
Union President Officer Kevin Pinches said the members "really enjoyed taking part" in the campaign.

"The Wyckoff PBA would like to thank Chief David Murphy for allowing us to run with this idea. We would also like to thank the Wyckoff community for supporting us throughout the campaign," Pinches said. "We would especially like to thank Becca, a brave girl who continues to inspire us."
Becca was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a blood and bone marrow cancer, on Sept. 8, 2014. She is counting down her last 100 days of chemotherapy, which is scheduled to end Nov. 13.

Murphy thanked all of the officers for supporting "such a great cause."
"Through the growing of beards, we hope we have raised enough money and awareness for Becca to help her and other kids tackle kids cancer," Murphy said. "It was truly a great honor to be part of this."
