• Woman dies after crash in Southwest Albuquerque (abqjournal.com subscription) — A woman has died after police say she drove through a stop sign and was hit by another car near 98th Street and Amole Mesa Avenue in Southwest Albuquerque on Saturday night. Albuquerque Police are still investigating the crash, including whether alcohol or drugs were involved, but say it was not a hit-and-run. Residents may notice ongoing police activity in the area as the case continues.

• Local FedEx driver hopes to win 'Super Dad' title in major contest (kob.com) — An Albuquerque FedEx driver and father of four, Bryant Garcia, is competing in the 2026 Super Dad contest and has already cracked the top ten in his group. Local residents can vote online daily to help him win $25,000 and a national Ace Hardware commercial, while also supporting the Children's Miracle Network. Garcia says his cancer survival and devotion to his kids inspired him to enter.

• New Mexico United clinches playoff spot with 2-1 win over Phoenix Rising (krqe.com) — New Mexico United has clinched a playoff spot after a 2-1 win over Phoenix Rising at The Lab in Albuquerque, with a late goal from Cam Wilkerson sealing the deal. Coaches and players say they're focused on finishing strong in a tight Western Conference race. Fans can now look ahead to Blackout Night this Saturday, when United hosts Monterey Bay Union at home.
