• NM State Land Office and Forest Stewards Guild Announce Planned Fall 2026 Broadcast Burn in Black Lake, NM (nmfireinfo.com) — A large prescribed burn is planned for fall 2026 on 400 acres near Black Lake, just south of Angel Fire, with ignitions possibly starting October 13 and lasting four to five days. Angel Fire and nearby communities could see smoke while fire crews carry out this carefully planned operation to reduce wildfire risk, protect homes, and improve forest health. Officials will post updates on NMFireInfo.com and coordinate closely with local fire departments.
