1. 5-Year-Old Rescued After 30 Hours Beside Dead Adults in CO Crash (jems.com) — Two young adults from Farmington were killed in a rollover crash off U.S. 160 near Bayfield, Colorado, while a 5-year-old girl with them survived after waiting roughly 30 hours for help. Colorado State Patrol says impairment and excessive speed are not suspected, and the child has since been released from the hospital.

Tennis championships up for grabs this week in Albuquerque (tricityrecordnm.com) — Farmington High and Piedra Vista tennis players made strong showings at the state championships in Albuquerque, with Farmington’s doubles team of Marley Deswood and Hallie Yazzie advancing to Thursday’s semifinals. Several Scorpions and Panthers battled through tough Class 5A brackets, including standout wins by Farmington’s Conner Clark and Piedra Vista’s Brandt Edwards before both fell in quarterfinal play.

Home Prices Are Still Rising in 71% of Markets As West Cools (realtor.com) — Farmington homeowners are seeing some of the steepest price declines in the country, with existing home values dropping about 11% in the first quarter of 2026. While most U.S. markets still posted gains, the latest Realtors report shows the West, including Farmington, cooling as national prices inch up only slightly and mortgage payments ease a bit from last year.

With Promises of Money, Controversial Gas Pipeline on Navajo Nation Passes First Hurdle (nmpoliticalreport.com) — A proposed Tallgrass Energy gas pipeline would start near Farmington in the San Juan Basin, with local officials and San Juan College’s energy school backing the project while environmental groups strongly oppose it. Navajo Nation leaders narrowly advanced the plan’s first step, debating promised community payments and the shift from hydrogen to natural gas that could fuel power plants across the Southwest.
