• North Valley man charged in fatal shooting of son (abqjournal.com subscription) — A man is accused of fatally shooting his adult son during a late-night argument at a home in Albuquerque's North Valley, near Sabre NW and Fourth Street. Police say the 64-year-old father faces an open murder charge plus additional assault and battery counts after allegedly attacking others at the scene and later admitting the shooting in a 911 call.
   

• 2 inmates reported dead in unrelated incident by Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center (krqe.com) — Two inmates connected to Bernalillo County's Metropolitan Detention Center, which serves the Albuquerque area including North Valley, died in separate incidents last week. One man died after a medical emergency at the jail, while another died off-site while on a community custody program with GPS monitoring; both deaths remain under investigation.
