• Placitas resident files complaint about flood control tax overpayment (nm.news) — Placitas property owners may have overpaid roughly $900,000 in flood control taxes even though the underlying ESCAFCA debt was retired in 2022, according to resident Mike Neas. He’s filed a complaint with the New Mexico Finance Authority seeking to stop future overbilling and recover past overpayments, while ESCAFCA and county officials debate who has the authority to fix the problem.
