Albany County Sheriff's Office warns of scammers posing as law enforcement (cbs6albany.com) — Albany County residents are being warned about scammers who spoof the Sheriff's Office phone number and claim there's an arrest warrant over a missed court date, then demand money or personal details. Deputies stress they never request payments or sensitive information by phone and urge anyone receiving such a call to hang up and contact the Sheriff's Office directly.

3. Albany Cops Chase Down Teen Shooter After Bullets Pepper Buildings: Police (dailyvoice.com) — Police say a teen from Troy fired multiple shots near Clinton Avenue and Lark Street in Albany Thursday afternoon, hitting a car and several buildings but injuring no one. Officers chased him on foot and arrested him near Spruce and Dove streets, recovering a gun. The youth now faces attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and weapons charges in Albany County Family Court.
