5 Things to Know: July 18th
The hot weather takes its last gasps today, so stay cool with these great events around Babylon.
1. The heat wave enters its last day today – the National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 92 degrees as we approach the afternoon. Bring an umbrella for the afternoon – thunderstorms, most of which will be severe, will hit the area with torrential downpours and possible hail. Be safe and stay cool!
2. Send the kids off to at Cedar Beach Marina! Campers ages 6-12 will explore Long Island’s marine habitats on the beautiful south shore beaches in Babylon. Unique specialized sessions for ages 6-8 and for 9-12 offered by Cornell educators. US Coast Guard visits campers to teach marine safety and protecting the waters from pollution. Each week costs $225 and starts at 9:00 a.m.
3. Babylon Village Patch will be live at the Riverhead Criminal Courthouse at 11:00 a.m. for the against Michael Grasing, the man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a Lindenhurst teen. We will give you details as they become available starting at 11:00 a.m.

4. What better way to cool down than a day at the Babylon Village Pool? It gets even cooler with starting at 2:30 p.m. A children's librarian will be on hand to read several tales to children at the bay-side facility.
5. Mamma mia, here we go again! The Town of Babylon will be hosting another in its . "Arrival" will be playing the hits of the Swedish band ABBA at the bandstand starting at 7:00 p.m.
