Honoring Warriors With an Inspirational Run

Everyone from newly-elected Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone to babies came out for the Town of Babylon's 2011 Run for the Warriors 5K, 10K, and 1-mile walk/fun run this past Sunday.

The event, honoring veterans and those wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, featured recreational and competitive runners, many inspired by service members doing the same runs with backpacks, carrying American flags, and even each other across the Sunrise Highway finish line, in front of Babylon Town Hall.

Patch was there to catch some of the patriotic action.
