ICYMI: Babylon Residents Float Down Street After Morning Flooding

BABYLON, NY — Thursday's flooding led to submerged streets across Long Island, and Babylon was no exception. Streets near the Great South Bay that typically flood in storms saw 18 to 24 inches of flood water this morning around 7 to 8 a.m., residents estimated.

Toni Marie Silverman said she is glad her family happened to be up early.

"[The constant flooding] is getting tired. If I didn't wake up early we would have lost all our cars. And there is now way an ambulance or fire truck could get by," she said.
