UPDATE: Woman Struck by Pickup Truck on Sunrise Highway
BREAKING: The woman had exited her car after it struck the median, police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY – A woman was struck by a pickup truck on Sunrise Highway Tuesday morning, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, the woman, who police have not named, was driving eastbound on Sunrise Highway near Hubbards Path in West Babylon when her vehicle struck the median.
She exited her vehicle on the passenger side and was then struck by a pickup truck at about 5:30 a.m. police said. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with serious injuries.

The highway was closed near the crash scene for about four hours. At 9:13 a.m., a police spokeswoman told Patch the road was "in the process of reopening."
First Squad detectives are investigating the crash.
