UPDATE: Police Investigating Unintentional Stabbing in Babylon
It happened early Saturday morning, police say.

BABYLON, NY – Suffolk Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Babylon early Saturday morning.
It happened at about 1:51 a.m. on Deer Park Avenue.
The victim told police that he was approached by a man with a knife at The Villager located at 260 Deer Park Ave. After a verbal altercation, the man unintentionally stabbed the victim in his hand, police said.

The Villager, however, says the incident did not occur inside the bar.
"That incident did not happen in or outside our establishment, as it happened across the street," Lauren Crowe, a representative for The Villager told Patch in an email.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson told Patch, " At this point, there is no clarification on who is telling the real story."
