The Studio by Tre-Femmes Accessories offers a selection of jewelry and high-end clothing.
Roseann D'Elia's advice to those contemplating opening a retail store has a familiar ring to it: Just do it.
"If you have it in your heart, take the plunge, take the chance, don't be afraid to jump into the pool," says the jewelry designer and proprietor of The Studio by Tre-Femmes Accessories which opened its doors on Deer Park Avenue in June.

Stocked with custom-made jewelry, from necklaces to rings and everything in between, as well as fine clothing and assorted accessories, the shop is more home-like than store-like and boasts D'Elia's artistic touch.
It's her first retail establishment, though Tre-Femmes Accessories, her custom jewelry business, has been in business for nine years. If D'Elia looks familiar it's because she has previously worked as the in-house jewelry designer at Pandemonium directly across the street from her current location.

The biggest challenge in opening the store, and now running the store, is dealing with the economic issues impacting every business district, says D'Elia.
A recen visit, however, indiciated that The Studio has admirers as a steady stream of shoppers stopped in to buy and browse. Like any respected artist, D'Elia has developed a following , with repeat customers now enjoying the ability to look at her work in a very homey and comfortable space.
"I love what I do and I love making jewelry for customers," she says, noting that customers are very interested in monogrammed jewelry and stamp disk designs that are hand cut.
"Customers provide the initial design and we make it happen. What you want is what you get," she says.
She uses 14K gold finish and sterling silver as well as other materials to maker her beautiful pieces. The lure of handmade jewelry, she explains is the custom touch.
"You're making jewelry that is very personal and unique and people really like that," she says noting that all but just one item in her store is made in the United States.
D'Elia's right hand in the business is Store Manager Claudia Kohn who boasts a strong retail business background.
The two are excited about upcoming store promotions: a men's night of shopping slated for this Thursday evening and an American Express promotion slated for November 28 during which shoppers spending $100 or more will receive a $25 credit.
