Public Hearing Set on Dunkin' Donuts Proposal
The Babylon Village Board meeting will be held December 14 at 7 p.m. at village hall.
The Babylon Village Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, December 14, at 7 p.m. on a proposal to establish a Dunkin' Donuts on Railroad Avenue.
There is currently a Dunkin' Donuts location in West Babylon, on Little East Neck Road. The $5.7 billion-dollar conglomerate operates more than 9,000 restaurants in 31 countries worldwide, and sells almost 2.5 million donuts a day and more than 1 billion cups of coffee a year
There will also be a village board hearing regarding the installation of a stop sign on West Gate Drive.

The board, at Tuesday night's meeting, also announced plans to hire a part-time grant researcher to investigate and secure potential funding opportunities.
The board has allocated $4,000 for the job hire. Mayor Ralph Scordino believes it will be a worthy investment.

"There is a lot of money available for projects and it requires work to investigate and then initiate the grant process," said Scordino.
Just a few residents attended the short board meeting, which followed a packed public hearing earlier in the evening on the Bohlsen restaurant proposal for the former Bank of New York building on Deer Park Avenue.
Board trustees also reminded the audience that the Conklin House will hold its annual cookie contest on December 2 and an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on December 4.
