Reader Feedback: Coach Realtors [UPDATE]

Last week, we asked readers to give their thoughts on what the former location of Coach Realtors on West Main Street in Babylon Village should become in the future. Responses poured in and included thoughts of coffee shops, candy stores and more.

Tara Roff- Knappe suggested on Facebook that major coffee-chain Starbucks move in and give the village another place to pick up teas and lattes. Jane Geiss Abrams-Tucker suggested, however, that the Babylon Bean was a better option to the idea.

Commenter momof3 asked for a Stride Rite store to enter the location, noting there are no children's shoe stores in the village.

Vincent Santangelo said, "Please, no more banks and real estate firms!! What about a good ole fashioned "Hardware" store to maintain all those houses that are "apparently" being bought and sold every day." Jane Lynn Davidson noted though, "I'd like a hardware store too, but we recently lost one on the other side of the Village near the Conklin Housse, and that store is still empty."

The Babylon Village Planning Board recently hosted the owner of the building and a potential suitor for the location – LabCorp, a collecting facility for bodily fluids such as blood and urine for testing. The board approved the lab to move in based on the approval of a traffic and parking test in the area's parking lot.
