Top Awards for Babylon DECA
Babylon Junior-Senior High School students impress at New York State DECA Career Competition.
Forty-one Babylon Junior-Senior High School students qualified to compete at this year’s New York State DECA Career Competition, where they performed extremely well against more than 3,000 other students.
During the event, the students showcased their skills in such areas as travel and tourism, retail merchandising and personal financial literacy. As a result of their demonstrated skills, 12 students placed in the top 10 in their respective categories, with some winning multiple honors.
Ryan Cosgro, who won three top 10 medals in his test, two role-plays and placed in the top 10 (fifth) for Restaurant and Food Service management, qualified to compete in the DECA International Career Development Conference. Emma Rende, Babylon’s DECA Chapter President, was also nominated to participate in the Senior Leadership Academy at the ICDC.
