Town to Celebrate Women’s History Month on March 20th

"Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women," to feature local honorees, live entertainment

(March 19, 2018 – Lindenhurst, NY) – Babylon Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer is proud to join the Department of Human Services to host the Town’s annual Women’s History Month Celebration to be held this Tuesday, March 20th at Walter G. O’Connell High School in Copiague. The event starts at 6 P.M. and will feature honorees from the community, as well as live musical performances.

Delivering the keynote address at this year’s event will be Suffolk County Legislator Monica Martinez. Judge Debra Urbano-DiSalvo, Amityville Village Justice, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Live performances by the Copiague High School Madrigal Choir and 3D Dance Studio will also take place. This is the list of this year’s honorees:

• Virginia Ettrick – Educator, Amityville School District (Ret.)
• Cathy Hyde – Assistant to Councilwoman Jackie Gordon, Town of Babylon
• Ebony Kilpatrick & Garnette Dunbar – Health Empowerment Services
• Gina Lieneck – Community Advocate
• Claire Mangielli – Chief of Staff, Office of Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory
• Judith Raimondi – Founder, Lindenhurst Community Cares Coalition
• Myrna Taylor – Commissioner, Town of Babylon Department of Human Services (Ret.)

In addition to honorees and live performances, there will be a vendor marketplace featuring displays from local businesses.
