Village Notes: New Hires, Refunds on Taxes
The village board passed a few measures during their last meeting on Tuesday, July 10th.
The Babylon Village Board of Trustees held a public meeting on July 10th in the Babylon Village Hall. While no major issues were discussed nor were there any public hearings, the board did discuss and pass a range of measures.
Among the items passed Tuesday evening were:
- Minutes from a previous meeting two weeks ago were approved.
- The village board hired two sanitation workers for part-time work.
- Two organizations, Babylon Day Care and Jardine Realty Corp., were issued refunds for money spent on the Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals signs.
- The village board hired a new starter at the E. Donald Conroy Golf Course.
- A village resident was refunded $100 for the rights to her parking spot in the village.
- A total of six homes were refunded a collective $6,000 in over-charges on this year's taxes.
- An application from Sunset Taxi for a new taxi cab driver was unanimously approved.
- The board for Sidewalk Sales in the Babylon Village business district.
- The village approved hosting the Annual Country Fair on September 9th.
