Wednesday Town Board Meeting: Officials Might Board Up 3 Homes
Find out how you can participate in the remote meeting set for Wednesday. The board will be considering boarding up 3 local homes.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — The Town of Babylon will be hosting a virtual board meeting Wednesday afternoon, during which they will discuss possibly boarding up three local homes. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
On the agenda for the public hearing portion of the meeting, the board will be decided to designate one home in Deer Park and two in West Babylon as "public nuisances." The Deer Park home is located on W. 22nd Street while the West Babylon homes are located on 14th Street and York Place.
If declared a public nuisance, the homes will be boarded up under town law which states that officials have the authority to board up the homes and evict residents if two or more arrests for certain crimes such as gang assault, drug arrests or prostitution, Newsday reports.
